Het liedje stamt uit 1964 en moest het in de hitparade afleggen tegen The Beatles met Eight Days a Week en The Supremes met Stop! In the name of love. Begrijpelijk, ook in mijn toenmalige beleving. De tekening is van zo’n tien, twaalf jaar later en geen idee of genoemde songtekst in mijn hoofd meespeelde toen ik hem maakte. De associatie is van vandaag.
Ik moet toch wel een heel lief manneke geweest zijn! Anders kan ik het niet verklaren dat ik dit plaatje zo’n vijfenveertig jaar geleden getekend heb. Want ook deze met kleurpotlood gemaakte tekening komt uit dat oude tekenblok.
